Mica [pronounced mai.ka]

Found in granite, gneiss, sandstone and schist, these lustrous silica minerals are the building blocks for mountain ranges the world over. Their glittering fragments are a common sight on the surrounding hillsides and footpaths.

Micas have been utilised by humans since prehistory and continue to be prized for their brilliance and versatility, from printing inks to microscopy.

At Mica Publishing, we produce our walking guidebooks with a similar ethos while providing an emphasis on route choice, detail and high quality content.
